FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

FAQs: List

WHAT UNIX PLATFORMS ARE SUPPORTED?

Cronology supports Oracle running on:

  • Linux (Oracle Enterprise Linux / Red Hat)

  • Solaris

  • Tru 64 / OSF1

  • HP-UX

WHAT ARE THE ORACLE REQUIREMENTS?

Oracle 11.2.0.4 or above (with Java option). The front end requires Oracle APEX 19.2 to be installed in the database. Cronology is ideally suited to on-premises, Amazon EC2 for Oracle or Amazon RDS Custom for Oracle databases. Native Amazon RDS for Oracle is not supported due to functional restrictions in native RDS.

WHAT IS THE INSTALLATION PROCEDURE?

Cronology consists of a number database tables and packages. The front end is an Oracle APEX application. As such the installation is usually performed by a DBA who simply runs installation scripts into the database. It is recommended you use Oracle ORDS to service your APEX applications so some ORDS configuration may also be required.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

The Cronology software itself is free to download an install but requires a license key to run. Free one month trial license keys are available on request (see Contact Us). The cost of full licenses and support packages are available on request.
